Sylvia's Teddy

Sylvia's Teddy was 80 years old.   He had had a wonderful life, being very loved but he had been a bit battered on the way.  When he lost an eye early on, Sylvia tried to make it better with vaseline and the greasy dirty mark was very unsightly.  His pads were worn or gone.  His joints were loose and his stuffing had deteriorated.

Teddy was taken completely apart and each part carefully cleaned and then lined.  The parts were restitched with new felt pads to all four paws.  Holes were patched and worn areas darned to strengthen them.  He was given new eyes, mouth and nose and new joints before being put back together.  A smart new bow and he was ready to return to Sylvia.  

Sylvia told me she had been so sad about how Teddy looked that she had thought about throwing him away.  Now he sits near her bed, the only toy remaining from her childhood.  Both look very happy!
